Sexy Men of Geekdom

Hello all! Welcome to the show all our fan girls have been waiting for! We know there are a lot of pretty girls in geekdom, but what most people don’t realize (if you are not a girl), that there is a plethora of very sexy men as well.

Last week's poll had the Video as our most popular item for Web Content Week! This week, let us know if you agree with our list!

This podcast is semi interactive! We have posted pictures of our sexy men on the blog (http://tribblesandtargsgeek.blogspot.com/), so you must follow along! Don’t scroll very far ahead though, or it will ruin the surprise! This podcast is just Tribble and Diane. We are both obviously single at the time of recording lol. This is also a long episode at about 1.5 hours. (which is really good, as I was able to cut it down from over 2 hours!)

Note: Some of the pictures could not be resized without losing some of their sexy-ness, so they remain small. Sorry.

This podcast was brought to you by the hashtags #Debbies and #Snackles

I know that a lot of our choices will seem… controversial, to say the least. However, there are two quotes that I feel describe why we chose our people.

Quote the first:

"You don’t love someone for their looks, their clothes, or for their fancy car, but because they sing a song only you can hear" -- Oscar Wilde

Quote the second:

"We fell in love with the talent, not the body. These are the men who are NOT traditional hunks, they posses little of society’s “beauty”. Our first thoughts of them were not those of lust, but of awe. Their performances brought life to a character, something that was flat on a screen. They made us crave more with their words, their body language, their mastery of their art. We find them beautiful because of their talent, they way they transform from a person to a thing of legends." -- unknown

We hope you will really take these, the second quote especially, to heart while listening and reading. We have a mix of traditional and non-traditional looking guys on our list.

Don’t forget to take part in our poll in the blog's sidebar. you have a week to take part! we are excited to see your opinions!!

Web Content Week!!

Welcome to the end of our first FULL MONTH of posts!!! I hope you have been enjoying our new show!

Last week our poll was about Star Wars movies! It looks as if most of you enjoy the classic movies to the new ones! Good to know for possible commentaries!!

This week we have a Web Content Week. This is basically just some videos or games or news that we have collected over the month from us, or from our listeners... that's you, incase you were un-sure!

We will share some news first, then a photo, then some video.

NEWS

Here is an article about "Game experts believe they've uncovered earliest known version of D&D". This link was sent to us by Pat from Cave Comics in Newtown CT. Here is a link to his awesome store: http://www.cavecomics.com/

This article was very interesting to us as Targ is a huge D&D fan. http://www.blastr.com/2013-4-29/game-experts-believe-theyve-uncovered-earliest-known-version-dd

IMAGE

As geeks, we are very interested in the final frontier. Space, I mean. We often check in at the Spitzer Space Telescope site (http://www.spitzer.caltech.edu/), and the images from there are fraking amazing! Here is one from June 5th, 2013:

From the Spitzer site: "Dozens of newborn stars sprouting jets from their dusty cocoons have been spotted in images from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope. In this view showing a portion of sky near Canis Major, infrared data from Spitzer are green and blue, while longer-wavelength infrared light from NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) are red.

The jets appear in green, while young stars are a yellow-orange hue. Some of the jets can be seen as streaks, while others appear as blobs because only portions of the jet can be seen. In some cases, the stars producing jets can't be seen while their jets can. Those stars are so embedded in their dusty cocoon that they are too faint to be seen at Spitzer's wavelengths."

VIDEO

Now here is a video of this kid called Jon Cozart (@joncozart on Twitter, and http://www.youtube.com/paint on YouTube) who does fun videos about geeky things (usually involving music) like Harry Potter, Disney, and LOTR. Here is his video about Lord of the Rings called "Lord of the Rings in 99 Seconds":

So this concludes our Web Content Week! I hope you all liked the set up. What, if anything would you change? Please let us know in the comments section!

And don't forget our poll this week!!

Next week we have a podcast featuring Diane and Tribble discussing Sexy Men of Geekdom!

Why Firefly Should Not Be Renewed

Why Firefly Should Not be Renewed

By: Tribble

I am going to admit something to you all: I am so sick of people saying (and wearing t-shirts) "Bring Back Firefly". I know all of you are going to object, and Twitter Bomb me, but I am of the opinion that Firefly should stay as it is. I know, I know, it was awesome. and it would have been nice if it was not canceled. I am not saying it should have been canceled in the first place. This being said, let's look at the reasons why.

1. Half the characters are dead.

How can you have the show with no Wash?! He is the comic relief!! Also, Book was one of the most interesting characters in the whole show. You never knew his deal, and that was fascinating and frustrating at the same time. Who was he? and why did he have to die so crappy?!? For reals.

2. What if they brought it back and ruined it?

Like they did with Star Wars. Do you really want people bad-mouthing your favorite show like that? I wouldn't. I mean, with our luck, they would have Mal get together with Zoe. Or they would cure River. Do you really want that? No. No you don’t.

3. Could you really buy it?

Now that you know, would you really be able to buy Sean Maher playing straight? Nuff said.

4. Mystery is the best thing

Not knowing is always the best. I you knew what is going on would you really like the show anymore? if they continued the show you would get answers. I know that those answers would definitely not be what I would want for the characters, and the way it stands now, I can make up my own answers.

5. C'mon people, it’s been over 10 years already. get over it.

The show was great, but I have three words for you: IT. IS. OVER. it is never coming back. on top of that, the cast is 10 years older. I know Nathan Fillion is awesome (no denying that), but can her really do the same stuff he was able to 10 years ago? I know I can't. look at Harrison ford in crystal skull as an example. I mean c'mon, we didn't need to see that. No offence to him, because I love him, but he was too old to play Indy.

6. Finally, if you Firefly-ers need a fix, why not support a spin off??!

Same universe, different characters. that way, they can bring some characters back as cameos! I would watch that. but only if it was written well, not like "Browncoats"

So, to sum up, SHUT UP! Firefly is never coming back. enjoy it for what it is. a great show that ended before its time. you can be sad it's over, but stop complaining for a future that will never happen.

Don’t forget to take part in our poll in the blog's sidebar. you have a week to take part! we are excited to see your opinions!!

Welcome, and The 10th Doctor

Hello! Welcome to the launch of "Tribble and Targ Present: GEEK"! Welcome back to our Star Trek podcast listeners, and welcome to our new listeners!!

Here's how this show works:

Here is who we are:

The Fab 3:

Tribble: Tribble is one of the founders of Tribbles and Targs: A Star Trek Podcast. Known for keeping Targ in line and on topic… usually. Tribble is the person with whom you will be communicating, as I run all the web contents like Facebook, Twitter, The Blog and the Podbean, as well as email. You can always talk to both Tribble and Targ, as I share everything show related with him, so rest assured he will know.

Targ: Targ is one of the founders of Tribbles and Targs: A Star Trek Podcast. He is known for ranting on things he doesn’t like including, but not limited to: Temporal Paradoxes, Chakotay, and Sparkly vampires. He is often controversial, but that’s what the listeners like. Episodes that have a Targ rant are some of our most popular.

Diane: Brought onto Tribbles and Targs: A Star Trek Podcast as a part-time contributor, she quickly became a fan favorite. She is known for being quiet until she surprises you with a hilarious quip, and for being a never ending font of information on the CW show "Supernatural".

Guest Stars (in alphabetical order):

Amanda: Amanda has known Tribble and Targ for almost 20 years, and they have recently re-connected over their mutual love of everything geeky. An avid gamer, especially Mass Effect, She is our go-to video game expert. She is known for her catchy hash tags and controversial opinions on popular geek characters. (you can tweet all your hate to her on twitter @mandalizabeth ha-ha)

Danny: Danny has been friends with Tribble and Targ for over 10 years, and is a theatre expert. Anything about plays, he will know. Known for hilarious quips and self deprecating humor, he is sure to be a fan favorite.

Mary: Mary went to high school with Tribble and Targ and loves old school geekness like Sailor Moon. She also is just starting a foray into modern geekery by being forced to watch Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Battlestar. So far, so good!

Scott: The newest member of the gang, Scott is a Star Wars and game of Thrones aficionado. Scott will be a great asset to GEEK with article writing! Be sure to check out some of his great articles!
